Bill Ted Face the music is getting closer to becoming reality. Yesterday it was announced that the two female leads have been cast.
The film, set for an August 21, 2020 release, has a script, Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter, as well as a returning William Sadler as the Grim Reaper. Now it’s got Brigette Lundy-Paine and Samara Weaving starring as the iconic duo’s daughters.
Lundy-Paine (above, left) will be playing Billie Logan, daughter of Reeves’ character Ted “Theodore” Logan. She’s starred in The Glass Castle and Netflix’s Atypical, but she’s more than just an actress. The 25 year old also has a career as a pop-star in the band Subtle Pride. 27 year old Weaving (above, right) on the other hand will play Winter’s character Bill S. Preston Esquire’s daughter Thea. Her credit include Picnic at Hanging Rock, Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, The Babysitter and SMILF. The the looks of things, Bill and Ted named their daughters after one another, which makes a lot of sense.
Producer Scott Kroopf said in a statement that “When we saw Samara and Brigette together, it was like déjà vu. It was exactly the way we felt when we first saw Keanu and Alex. We are so thrilled to have this funny and unique pair join the Bill and Ted team!”
Not much is known about the film as of yet, but the official summary states that it follows the story of a visitor from the future who send Bill and Ted on a quest to “save life as we know it and bring harmony to the universe.”
