Game Of Thrones Season 8 Looks Sharp On Blu-Ray

There is no denying it, Game of Thrones is an epic series. The battle for the control of the mythical land of Westeros was a show that everyone knew something about, even if they had never watched a single episode. Over eight seasons it won 59 Emmy Awards, which makes it the most awarded series ever in Emmy’s history, and on top of that it won almost another 250 awards including a Golden Globe. The show was so popular that it could make its fans wait almost two years to air the final season, which consisted of only 6 episodes, without losing any of them. And now, just in time for the holidays, fans can own the final season on blu-ray and DVD.

For the final season of Game of Thrones producers planned something special. Even though there were only 6 episodes, the majority of them were movie length. Each was epic in its own right, with major battles, shocking deaths, incredible special effects and unbelievable plot twists. While some of the twists had fans talking negatively about the show as they happened, over all the series stayed true to itself and drew it to a satisfying conclusion. On blu-ray, the series looks the way the producers intended. Sharp picture, clear sound, and amazing quality we’ve come to expect from HBO releases. There are also many special features, including the documentary The Last Watch, which aired the week after the finale played. The special features on the discs are interesting to watch as well, showing behind the scenes moments that give you further insight into the making the final season. The deleted and extended scenes could have been left in the episodes, as they flush out story lines and plots just a little more, but perhaps the directors left them on the cutting room floor to tighten up the stories.

Game of Thrones may have come to an end, but you can always go back to the start and watch the series all over again, this time without having to wait a year or two between seasons. The final season, as well as the previous ones, are available on blu-ray and DVD now.
